Reasons Why I Coupon

People often ask me why I spend so much time clipping coupons and hunting down deals.  The answer is simple - I want to be debt free.  Once our household is debt free, we would like to stay that way.  Couponing makes all of this possible.  Besides, would you pay $3 for a bottle of body wash when you have a coupon that would make it free?  Why not take the effort to clip a coupon at that point?  If you keep up that mentality on everything you purchase, you will see your savings quickly adding up.

My favorite part of couponing is getting my receipt and checking out the "You Saved $__.__ today!"  Add those savings on top of any store incentives (CVS - Extra Care Bucks), then I'm really happy.  And if you shop at Walmart, they pay you overage for any coupon used.  So let's say you have a $1 off coupon and the item is .97 cents, Walmart pays you that extra three cents.  That may not seem like a lot of money, but it will add up over time.  Whatever amount you save during your shopping trip, put it towards your credit card, loans, mortgage, etc.

Couponing goes a long way if you just put in some effort.  It does not take much time & energy once you set your mind to it.

  1. I personally love savings at CVS and seeing what you saved. It's marked up incredibly already but that's besides the point lol.

I wish I did more with coupons, I only really get ones from NY&Company and Yankee Candle lol. And no printer =(
